Within just a 20-minute car-drive, more than 30 stunning ski tours in South Tyrol await you – suitable for beginners and experienced ski tourers, and perfect for experiencing nature almost all to yourself. Each week, our experienced mountain guides take you to hidden spots and insider locations. If you wish, you can also join ski touring courses to learn new techniques or refine and deepen your skills.

- The mountains of the Passeiertal offer the perfect starting point for ski touring at every level, from beginners to experts. The length and duration of the tour vary between 300 and 2,000 meters of elevation gain. It is possible to spend short pieces or longer tours on glaciers.
- Hochalm in Stuller Madher: Approx. 500 meters ascent, 3 kilometers, view of the Passeiertal from Timmelsjoch to Ifinger.
- Glaitner Hochjoch: Approx. 800 meters ascent, 3.6 kilometers long tour with a stunning view of the Passeiertal.
- Erensee in Pfleders: Approx. 700 meters ascent, 3.8 kilometers long tour. Ascent through the forest and descent to Lazins.
- Zermaidscharte: Approx. 950 meters ascent, 4.6 kilometers long tour with a view of the Timmelsjoch and Ratschingertal.
- Alpenspitze: 1,000 meters ascent and 7 kilometers Ascent through the Wansertal with a view of the Sarntal, the Dolomites, and the Passeiertal. Descent - conditions permitting - through the Sailental.
- Hohe Kreuzspitze: 1,100 meters ascent and 6 kilometers. Wonderful skitour with a view of the Passeiertal, the Ortles area, the Stubai Alps and Großglockner.
- Hinterer Kitzkogel: 1,300 meters ascent and 5.5 kilometers. A beautiful ski tour on a south-easterly facing slope in the Stubai Alps. It is also a well-western trip in powder snow, but do not underestimate the gradient of the final slope!
- Hoffmannspitze: 1,400 m ascent and 8.7 km. As the smallest 3,000-metre peak in the Botzer Group, the Hoffmannspitze lets the surrounding mountain landscape speak for itself with its simple summit cross. Offering spectacular views over the Übeltalferner glacier and the Timmels Valley, this peak connects the Passeiertal Valley with the Ridnaun Valley.
- Botzer: 1,500 meters ascent and 9.7 kilometers. On this tour, you will need to make good use of your turns on the descent – otherwise, your arms will have to do the work! A beautiful ski tour in the Stubai Alps, which can also be extended by climbing additional peaks such as the Hoffmannspitze.
- Hinterer Seelenkogel: 1,850 m ascent and 12 km – a tour for experienced alpine experts only and recommended only in safe conditions. The steep ascent is rewarded with a fantastic descent into the valley. The route is consistently exposed and offers magnificent panoramic views stretching from the peaks of the Ortler Group and the Ötztal Alps all the way to the Dolomites.

Early in the morning, carving the first tracks into freshly groomed slopes – sounds like the perfect start into your day? Around our small guesthouse in the Passeiertal, you’ll find a variety of ski areas in South Tyrol, ideal for beginners, families, and passionate skiers.
Right outside our doorstep, there’s a small carpet lift – perfect for children making their first skiing attempts. Or swap your skis for a sled and head down the slope. A lot of fun for the whole family.
In the surrounding area, you’ll find three more ski resorts:
• Pfelders, a small and family-friendly resort, easily reachable by bus from Stuls.
• Ratschings-Jaufen, offering 28 kilometers of slopes for pure downhill fun in the sun.
• Meran 2000, the panoramic ski area at the entrance of the valley, about 50 minutes away, featuring 40 kilometers of slopes, a snow park, and plenty of mountain huts – perfect for families and more ambitious skiers.

- Depending on the weather, the skiing season starts at the beginning of December and ends early to mid-April. The exact date is available on the website of the different skiing areas.

- Yes. All three skiing areas offer attractive prices for kids, teens, and families. In some places, young kids ski for free when accompanied by a paying adult. The exact age limits depend on the skiing area.

- Lainser Tal cross country trail: With its 12 kilometers, this is the longest and most demanding trail in the Passeiertal. Enjoy the trail from Pfelders to the Lazinser Alm surrounded by alpine landscapes. Longer ascents and flat parts await you.

- For simple snowshoe hikes on protected paths and trails, no specific prior experience is required. Simple routes under normal conditions are appropriate for beginners.More demanding tours in exposed surroundings should be carefully planned and supervised by a mountain guide.
- We are happy to lend you snowshoes and poles directly at Pension Widmann. For more challenging tours that may involve avalanche hazards, we recommend carrying an avalanche transceiver, which we do not provide.
- Twice a week, you can join a guided snowshoe hike led by mountain guides from the Passeiertal. You can participate for free thanks to your Guest Pass Passeiertal Premium.
- Depending on snow conditions, snowshoe hikes are possible from December to mid-March. However, this varies from year to year depending on snowfall.
